Meaghan Efford
Meaghan is classically trained in ballet, jazz, and contemporary, and was a professional ballet dancer until she retired in 2010. She found West Coast Swing through her university Ballroom club and immediately fell in love with its conversational style. Meaghan competes in international competitions and teaches using the Swing Literacy Development method. She loves to incorporate personal movement skills into West Coast Swing classes, drawing on her solo dance background, and making classes accessible and encouraging.
Dalynne Roberts
Swing Literacy Trained Teacher Dalynne has been working with Swing Literacy programs for the past 5 years and competes in the Novice division. A natural teacher, speaker, and entertainer, Dalynne is passionate about making every human feel welcome, included, and inspired.
Michael and Amy Shibasaki
Michael and Amy met at a BCSDC dance and decided to become practice partners to improve their dancing. Along the way, they fell in love and got married. Now they share their love of the dance with the community. They teach group lessons in Burnaby and Vancouver, and workshops around BC.
Amanda Brubaker
Amanda has been dancing for over 15 years and focusing on west coast swing since 2017 because she loves the variety of music, freedom of expression, and community. Her goal when teaching is to give people the skills to have fun and be safe on the dance floor while still expressing their unique selves.
DJ JAmes Atwill
JAmes is 60% water and has been a regular DJ in the Vancouver community since 2012. He’s been recently branching out, and depending on your sleep patterns, you may have heard him at Seattle’s Easter Swing, Rose City Swing, BridgeTown, Korean Open, or SwingCouver. JAmes doesn’t like rhubarb, and is steadfast that there shouldn’t be nuts in chocolate chip cookies.
