The BCSDC is presenting a fun series of four online workshops featuring local instructors. The workshops are designed to get you moving both physically and musically in preparation for when social dancing opens up again. Over the past year there have been very few opportunities to dance, so most of us are pretty rusty! As Provincial health restrictions begin to lift, we want to be ready for when we can finally social dance again. This 4-part series will help prepare you both physically and musically.
Goals and Expectations
The primary goal of this series is to have fun, and to “tune up” ourselves physically and musically. Physically, we will get you moving again starting with dance-specific warmup and strengthening drills as well as basic WCS patterns. We will introduce cool moves as we progress through the series. Musically we will teach you movements to hit fun features in your favourite WCS songs.
Musicality is a personal skill which you should be able to do solo before you can effectively execute it with a partner. Practicing musicality solo is perfect for these 4 online workshops (and loads of fun!!)You are not expected to attend all sessions. You can join the series late, or miss workshops, because the workshops are independent of each other. If you miss any you will be able to find them posted on our Facebook page later.
We’re looking forward to seeing you in the workshops.
