Summer Dance Details

After its success last year we’re offering another summer dance in downtown Vancouver.

On Saturday July 7th, come to Baza studio at 1304 Seymour St in downtown Vancouver:

Pamela Podmoroff will be teaching a 2 hour flash mob choreography lesson starting at 6:30 and then there will be dancing from 8:30 to midnight.

Doors open at 6:00PM.

June Dance (And Flash Mob Workshop

We are very excited to feature Gerald and Robin Cote at our June 9th dance. They will be teaching our pattern and techniques workshop at 8PM. If you are unfamiliar with Gerald and Robin, make your way over to Youtube and be impressed (for example, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRVdoeDoUaU)

This dance will also feature an introduction lesson to the International Flashmob (rally) choreography starting one hour earlier than our regular time, at 7PM. This lesson will be taught by BCSDC mainstays Michael and Amy Shibasaki. It is recommended that you feel very comfortable with West Coast Swing Basics to take this lesson.

Both lessons are offered for $5 each for members, so sign up and save! Doors open at 6:30 at the Confederation Centre, 4585 Albert St, Burnaby – see you there!

May Dance

We are very excited to be having Alpha Vo and Shannon Black teaching our May dance intermediate lesson. Alpha and Shannon regularly teach downtown at SwingLab. Shannon also teaches lessons at UBC with the Swing Kids, while Alpha is an All-Star dancer on the competitive circuit. Needless to say, they bring a wealth of experience in both teaching and social dancing.

For more information on both these guys, check out their instructor bios here: https://www.swinglabvancouver.com/instructors

This will be the first time both Shannon and Alpha are teaching for the BC Swing Dance Club, so let’s give them a warm welcome!
